We know AmeriCorps members get things done, but did you know their experience also allows them to grow professionally? That was the case for 28-year-old Carmella Cadusale who shares her experience serving as an Ohio history day coordinator for Region 5 Ohio where she realized her skillset and talents.

On October 8th, 900 AmeriCorps members, alumni, program staff, and community leaders came together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the AmeriCorps program. Members from across the state of Ohio came to Columbus to celebrate and be celebrated. Read a few reflections of the day from our AmeriCorps Program Directors.


Each year – for the past 25 years – thousands of Americans have taken this pledge to become AmeriCorps members. They come together with a common commitment to build community and improve lives through service. Putting aside their own needs and individual challenges, they share a transformational experience that benefits both themselves and the neighborhoods in which they live.


The 2019-20 AmeriCorps program year has begun! Across the state, Ohio’s 23 AmeriCorps State programs are kicking off with orientations that prepare members for their intensive terms of service.
