ServeOhio is excited to welcome an AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) team to Ohio this summer! A team of AmeriCorps members will serve at Supports to Encourage Low-income Families (SELF) in Hamilton, Ohio. SELF, which is Butler County’s community action agency, has a mission to enhance the quality of life for county residents by impacting the causes of poverty and empowering individuals to achieve, sustain and advocate self-sufficiency. On May 7-9, 2019 America’s Service Commissions (ASC), in partnership with ServeMinnesota, hosted the first of three regional National Service Training conferences in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Our state host ServeMinnesota shares our Central Region and shares some similar community issues and AmeriCorps impacts.

Six Ohio AmeriCorps programs have been awarded more than $4.1 million dollars by our federal partner, the Corporation for National and Community Service, to continue their impact throughout Ohio!

The Ohio LeaderCorps members provide a statewide network in which Ohio’s AmeriCorps members share ideas, experiences, and a spirit of service while taking a leadership position within their AmeriCorps program. The other AmeriCorps members and staff refer to their LeaderCorps member as an AmeriHero because of their above-and-beyond dedication and commitment to their team and to the community.

Throughout the month of March, 900 AmeriCorps members participated in regional events that included professional development, networking opportunities, and service projects.
