The Culture of Diversity and Inclusion in National Service

Diversity, equity, and inclusion creates stronger communities. When everyone has a seat - and a voice - at the table, we can find solutions to address our most pressing problems and have a positive impact on the entire community. AmeriCorps members have a unique opportunity to be community conveners and help to ensure that everyone they serve has a voice that is heard.

Welcome to Ohio, AmeriCorps NCCC!

ServeOhio is excited to welcome an AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) team to Ohio this summer! A team of AmeriCorps members will serve at Supports to Encourage Low-income Families (SELF) in Hamilton, Ohio. SELF, which is Butler County’s community action agency, has a mission to enhance the quality of life for county residents by impacting the causes of poverty and empowering individuals to achieve, sustain and advocate self-sufficiency. Learn more about the project and how you or your organization can get involved with NCCC.

Happy ServeOhio Day!

On June 21, nearly 400 youth volunteers will participate in a total of 13 service projects across the state to commemorate the first annual ServeOhio Day. In its inaugural year, ServeOhio Day exists to encourage and promote hands-on youth volunteer engagement while school is out for the summer. ServeOhio Day intentionally takes place on summer solstice, the day in the year with the longest period of daylight, to maximize participation in a number of service projects ranging from educating at-risk youth about summer safety to community clean-ups.
