AmeriCorps Member Profile: Horizon Education Centers

The Horizon Education Centers hosts 12 AmeriCorps members that support Family Engagement, Education, and Volunteer Engagement/Management in Northeast Ohio, in Lorrain and Cuyahoga Counties. AmeriCorps members strive to increase parent and family engagement in kindergarten readiness, school linked and after school activities throughout the year.

AmeriCorps Member Profile: Ohio Stream Restore Corps

Fresh out of Ohio University with a degree in plant biology, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do between my undergraduate studies and graduate school. Hike the Appalachian Trail, yeah, that could be fun. A job with the U.S. Forest Service continuing my thesis research would be great experience and solid pay. But when I saw the flier for the Ohio Stream Restore Corps AmeriCorps program, I had to apply.

Getting Things Done: DaytonCorps

The AmeriCorps members of the DaytonCorps serve in their community in one of three areas:  Education, Opportunity and Neighborhood.  These members have dedicated 300 to 900 hours of service to make a difference and lead by example.  The Education Corps members have been instrumental in creating a Rock Your Homework program where students of all ages receive help with their educational goals.
